Do You Know What IT Fluff Is?

So, as many of you out there may have no idea about, I have been looking for a job now for roughly 3 or so months.  Never will I back down and say the market is in turmoil or in a spot of bother however, the market for great IT has always been a little iffy.  Here is the issue: most people need folks who know what they are doing when it comes to computers / servers / smart phones…the lot of it really.  Everyone runs into a technical challenge that requires another human to help them or walk them through the solution.  Most of the “people” who I am referring to in the previous sentence are what we like to call in the industry as “fluff.”  Sure, remember that white stuff your mother use to slab liberally on to your peanut butter sandwiches before scooting you to school and pouring a glass of wine?  Fluff.  Fluff will come to your company and uninstall IE7 or 8 and reinstall IE6, explain to you that their (insert random acronym here) certification is the reason they have been staring at your server for the past 5 hours, or question why the guy in the corner is on a Mac and never has any need for Fluff.  Do you run a business?  Because if you are I would put my money on it that you have an IT crowd that is built on layers of Fluff; just churning and wasting the money that could be reinvested in better places.  People who want to take action against these Fluffs, please take a look at my resume and for everyone else who does not care about their IT presence / life (on and off the web), feel free to go somewhere else.
